Yesterday I realized the exact price of happiness. I know that it has been said that you can't buy happiness, but those who say that are clearly wrong...
Ryan, Julianna, and I were up at Grammy and Poppy's house visiting with Nana (Great Grandma) and Great Grandpa who are making their trek to New Mexico. We were standing around outside (we had the most glorious weather)and Poppy was holding Julianna. I starting flipping a quarter way up in the air and catching it. We started to notice that every time I flipped the quarter Julianna would laugh. Not just giggle. I mean, full out belly laugh. And she didn't sound like a baby laughing. I swear she sounded like a five year old. I must have flipped that quarter 25-30 times and each time was funnier than the last. We were amazed at how consistently funny my trick remained. I just can't imagine being happier than I felt watching my little girl laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh. Later last night when we were home I said to Ryan "It is hard to believe that something so small could make you so happy. It just goes to show you that you can't buy happiness." Ryan said "Well you can, but it only costs a quarter."
Here are a few pics from this weekend:

This week has been fairly uneventful. I took J to the doctor on Tuesday for her 4 month check-up/vaccination free-for-all. The doctor said she looked great in all areas. She is still very average in weight and head size, and above average in length. She continues to be adorable and incredibly sweet. Here are a few cute pics from the week:

Bananas
Julianna had her very first taste of solid food this week. We have been giving her a tiny bit of mashed bananas each day. See if you can guess who fed her in the following pics!? Be sure to click on the last couple of pics so that you can see them in their full glory. YUCK!

Answer Key: As I'm sure that anyone who has ever even met us guessed: Pics A and B - Mommy was the feeder. Pics c and D - Daddy fed his little pig.

Baby Crack
Julianna has found her thumb. For a baby the thumb is somewhat akin to crack cocaine. I tried very hard to save her from this horrible addiction by using a pacifier (the theory being that I can throw away the pacifier, not so easy to throw away the thumb...) for the first 4 months of her life. But she found her thumb despite my best efforts. I myself know the power of the thumb addiction having sucked mine until I was something like 25 :-) I guess that I am going to have to start saving up for thumb rehab. I have already started researching baby 12 step programs. Hee.

Easter in the NC mountains
Ryan, Julianna, and I spent her first Easter in the NC mountains at Ryan's parents' mountain house with Ryan's whole family. Julianna met her Uncle Richard, Aunt Alina, and Anda for the first time this weekend! We had a great time and the Easter Bunny even found us all the way up there on Beech Mountain :-)
Our little bunny!
The Easter Bunny knew all of Julianna's favoite candies, which are remarkably similar to her parents' faves.
We had about 8 or so inches of really beautiful snow. Daddy and Julianna are enjoying it for about 32 seconds before retreating inside to the fire.

Could She Be Any Cuter???
I was just getting ready to write about how I have the cutest kid in the world again, when I realized that I have become that parent. You know, the one that is not only convinced that he/she has the world's greatest kid, but the one that is constantly telling everyone how great said kid is. So I'll let these pics speak for themselves.
p.s. She really is the cutest isn't she??
